Bearclaw

Cutter's father (deceased) and former chief of the Wolfriders.

Bearclaw & Joyleaf"No Wolfrider ever lived longer, got into more scrapes, or had more fun getting out of em' than Bearclaw! Nothing scared him! He'd steal a human whelp right off its mother's back just to stir things up! Heh, heh, can't say I ever blamed the humans for not taking too kindly to Bearclaw, but they never caught im'! He'd leave the brat hanging on a branch somewhere and end up in a game down in the troll caverns, cheating old King Greymung's guards out of belts, buckles, britches and all! Oh, he was a mean son of a she wolf all right. But he had a merry heart, and a tolerance for dreamberries that I've yet to see equaled!"
As told by Treestump, "Wolfsong" by Wendy and Richard Pini

Joyleaf

Cutter's mother (deceased), former chieftess of the Wolfriders and Treestump's sister.

"She was as much a chieftess as Bearclaw was chief! Perhaps her arrows were not always as sure to hit the mark as his. But Joyleaf's patience often brought better results than Bearclaw's recklessness! And when Bearclaw in one of his rages would have led us into futile battle with the humans, Joyleaf's wise counsel always turned his anger aside!

They were lifemates! They complimented each other."

As told by Clearbrook, "Wolfsong" by Wendy and Richard Pini
