A shuttle crash leaves Liam and a badly wounded Zo'or in a woodland where they are discovered by a group of people who have spurned technology and have never heard of Taelons. Will Zo'or get help and will he and Liam ever be able to leave?
Too much of this episode is wasted on the woodland community without the story really getting anywhere. One good example is the way in which the residents talk of a saviour from the stars, but whether or not this is Zo'or remains totally unclear. After all, as one of the residents points out, it seems pointless for the saviour to come to them only to die in a hut somewhere. Secondly, after seeing one of the community tracking Liam with a gun, the next time we see him he's back talking to the leader. Why's he not done anything? Not only that, but after Liam overhears the plan to kill Zo'or, he decides to investigate the hut the conspirators were talking in rather than warning Zo'or. I know they're hardly best friends, but the rest of the episode sees him determined to save the Taelon's life which is rather odd.
Having said this, Liam's solution to saving Zo'or (admittedly suggested by the Taelon himself) is to drain him of almost all his energy to get him to help. Surely using Zo'or's energy to power a global and send for assistance rather than using him for the shuttle would have been better? The search by Renee and Augur for Liam also lacks any urgency at all, and they seem incapble of making any determinations despite having all the information handed to them on a plate.
The more interesting aspect is the sub-plot which sees the Taelon war minister arriving to tell Da'an that Zo'or's time as synod leader is coming to an end and it may soon be Da'an's turn in the hot seat. An interesting turn of events that should play out over the rest of the season. These scenes manage to make the episode a little more interesting, as are the brief scenes Liam shares with Zo'or while the Taelon is conscious, and the final few moments where Liam introduces Da'an to the concept of 'keeping your enemies closer', but it's still no more than average.
