Zo'or is struck down with an ancient Taelon virus and escapes to New York, where he is taken in by two asylum patients. Can Liam find him before the virus causes his energy to expend itself across fifty square miles of the city?
After his brush with death last episode, war minister Ta'thon seems to be more determined than ever to bring down Zo'or, to the extent that he openly welcomes the Synod leader's death and enlists Sandoval's help to achieve it. It's an interesting ploy by the writers to make Zo'or more sympathetic by throwing into the mix a Taelon who is even more vicious than the current leader. It's a bit too heavy-handed when he turns all nice to the people who have helped him, though.
From a Resistance perspective, it seems Liam is currently doing whatever the Taelons ask of him, rather than attempting to uncover their plan and stop it. That's twice this season he's saved Zo'or's life when it may have been more prudent to see what he could get out of him first.
The patients in the asylum are a little bit too sickening, being altogether nice people who are in love and therefore have no real personality to speak of. There's also an extremely camp Taelon who may be the worst doctor in the universe considering he misdiagnoses Zo'or's condition no less than three times during the episode, one when he doesn't think the Taelon will escape, once when he gives a prognosis as to how long Zo'or will survive and once when a human contracts the virus.
It's not totally clear whose side the Taelon players are on anymore. The Resistance seems to be less important to the plot than the machinations of Zo'or and Ta'thon as they try to eliminate each other, and Da'an and Sandoval seem to have a secretive smile on their faces as if they know something the two leaders don't. There are some key points that will no doubt play out over the course of the back end of the season, but there's not much to this episode beyond revealing the extent of Ta'thon's agenda, which could have been accomplished in much less time.
