Liam sees a vision of a man’s death leading him to investigate a bank that contains money from Taelon co-ventures.
Bit of an odd one, this. A ghostly Taelon, strange happenings at a bank, Zo’or’s ‘agenda’, all combine to make a somewhat off-balance episode. The idea that energy, even Taelon energy, cannot be destroyed, only converted, is something which hasn’t been touched upon until now in the series. The concept of what happens to Taelons when they die is an interesting one and worth further exploration.
Otherwise it’s mainly business as usual. Liam does his one-man-army routine again, Renee bats her eyelids and wears something skimpy to get information again and Da’an seems to be back on the side of humanity again, odd after his actions this season. Getting on his high horse here seems odd as he’s just as guilty of crimes as Zo’or is. Maybe it’s the religious angle that he isn’t keen on.
In its defence, you certainly don’t know where the story is going and the concept of Zo’or having enough money to buy the world is an interesting one, but it never quite comes together as a coherent narrative. The actions of the spirit don’t seem to have any great import, Zo’or moves his money with relative ease and the Resistance are left wondering what is going on. There are some good ideas at the bottom of this, but more development was needed.
