title>My 2 Cents Worth – Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: Voyager: 'Thirty Days'

Demoted to Ensign, Paris explains in a letter to his father the events on a world of water that led up to the event.

Once again, Voyager gets hold of an interesting concept, and totally fails to go anywhere with it. An artificially-created waterworld is pretty cool, but trying to build a plot around nothing beyond this is a bad move. Although Paris's actions don't seem out of place, the lieutenant's actions just to get people to take notice are rather over the top. And as he doesn't succeed, which is fairly obvious before he sets out, he's effectively thrown away his career. He's just lucky Janeway only decides to demote him.

There's not really anything else to say about this episode. There are some nice effects, but no real substance at all.
