Christmas
2002 Blessings
and Peace to all our family and friends!
The
year 2002 began with everyone trying to recover from the wonderful
family gathering in San Antonio for Missy’s wedding to Peter Watts.
Christmas just kind of came and went!
Just about as soon as we recovered, it was off to Connecticut for
the next Cleveland family wedding uniting Mike Klinger and Lilian
Olivera. Billy
lived at home at the beginning of the year while working out with the
Astros in preparation for spring training.
He also had two friends who spent a month with us.
It was interesting to say the least, but the young men were
wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed their presence.
(Okay, Sue really got tired of the “Man Show!”)
But they were off to Spring Training with the Astros on March 1. Jake
spent a wonderful week in London working on his new project that
basically keeps him busy morning to night!
Maybe he will get to return and Sue can join him!!
Jake said London was just wonderful even though he did not see
the sun or the sky even once during the week he was there! Billy
returned home around June 1st as the Astros decided he would
not fit into their future plans. Thus
it became time for him to figure out what his future would hold.
Probably just as well since his wedding was now only months away!
He got to realize his dreams and for that he is extremely
grateful. “Baseball been belly belly good to him!!”
Summer
came and Jake and I decided to return to Wyoming for a visit to see
family and friends. For the
first time in 19 years, we returned to Gillette, Wyoming!
It was really nice to see our friends after all those years.
It had grown but had not really changed very much.
Our stay in Buffalo was highlighted by a trip up into the Big
Horn Mountains, where I saw and photographed a number of moose, and one
of which had the largest rack Jake had ever seen in the wild.
What a joyous experience for me! We
returned in time to attend showers for Billy’s new bride as the
wedding was rapidly approaching! And
on October 19th, Billy was united in marriage to Miss Karen
Lynn Reese. The
occasion was spectacular, however, just like Missy’s wedding, it
rained. We understand that
rain on your wedding day is a positive omen!?
They returned from their honeymoon to a new apartment and
continuing work at her father’s company. Now that we are really “done” with our responsibilities to our children, Jake and I are researching where we might like to spend the first years of our retirement! There has to be trout fishing and golf for Jake and year-round warmth for Sue! This could take awhile!! Love
to all our family and friends as we hope that you have been as fortunate
and blessed as we have been this past year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
