How to Use this Index: Each index entry on the pages below refers to either an omen or a subject of interest or both. Confusingly the author used two indexing methods:

* For an omen: Arabic numerals referring to the omen number; e.g. in the first index entry, 'Ab=Akkad 17, r.4.', 17 is the number of the omen, and r.4. is a fourth variant of the reverse of this particular cuneiform tablet. Omens possess numbers from 1 to 277, inclusive.
* For a subject of interest: Roman numerals referring to the page number e.g. in the third index entry, 'Achilles Tatius, XIII'. Subjects of interest can mostly be found in the Preface [pages VII to IX] and Introduction [pages XIII to XXIX].

* Having obtained the omen number or page number of the entry you want: then link to the Descriptive List of Omens page. This contains a chronological set of hyperlinks to all the omen entries [second column] and pages [first column]. Scroll down until you find the link to the entry you want. Sometimes you may be disappointed, as whilst the original author transliterated all the omens from Akkadian into the Latin alphabet, he did not include in the book all the translated variants which are shown in the index - perhaps because of reasons of space.
* Each omen exists as .jpg files of individual book pages.
