gay  homosexual.

get a boot  find someone of legal age to purchase alcohol or tobacco products for a minor. (from bootlegger)

Get back with you.  alternative for saying, 'I'll see you later.'

get busy  becoming active.   "I'm not in any activities here; it's time to get busy."

get high  The euphoria experienced from the use of illegal drugs.

geize  USA; Pittsburgh, PA;  driving or running extrememly fast.

Get real!  Think again, that is ridiculous.

go belly up  To go into or become bankrupt.

golden arches  a Macdonald's restaurant.

goliath  Someone who thinks he is a big shot, but isn't.

gotta  have to or must:  I gotta go.

grooty  something that is disgusting, or rundown.

gross  something very unpleasant, nauseating.

grouser  Canada;  a complainer, a whiner.

grousing  Canada; meaning:  to complain at length, or repeatedly, to the point everyone is annoyed.

Gumby  Canada, U.S.A.; meaning:  a children's television cartoon about a figure made from plastecine.

happenin'  An event or a person who is cool

heave  to vomit.

Hold on to your horses!  Be patient! I'm getting to it.

Holmes  USA; Pittsburgh, PA; generic term used when referring to a male whose name is
unknown   "What's up, holmes?"

Homey  a member of a street gang, or a member of your neighborhood.

hooker  a female prostitute.

hook-up  ability to get proper connections with certain people or
things   "The guy next door has a sattelite dish and a VCR; he's got all the hook-ups."

hot  someone who is very sexy and desirable, something that is in vogue or in fashion.

horny  someone who is sexually frustrated.

housing  USA; Pittsburgh, PA; In sports:  totally dominating another person or team for a specific moment or for a duration of time. "Our volleyball team is housing those guys!  The  score is 14-3."

hype  USA; Pittsburgh, PA;  uptight; upset; jittery; worried; nervous.

hype  to build drama or interest using advertising campaigns that may or may not reveal the entire truth.

juiced  to be ready, or to be extremely excited.

kick  USA; Pittsburgh, PA;   1) to have a strong smell, usually a foul odor. 2) to do something that causes excitement.  "Those girls was kicking it at the dance last night."

kick game USA; Pittsburgh, PA;  synonym for crack on.

klink  another word for jail.

knock  criticise.

knocked up  an unplanned pregnancy, usually refers to teenage girls.

lad  Canada;  A young man.

lame a poor excuse, a bad joke

late not catching the punch line of a joke for at least 5 minutes after the joke was told.

Lay away  to have a store hold merchandise until it is paid for by installment.

Let 'er rip!  start or start it up.

liquid lunch  drinking beer at lunchtime, in the US and Canada refers to consumption of more alcohol at lunchtime than food.

live  USA; Pittsburgh, PA;  when a certain event was really worthwhile to attend. "That party was live last night!"

livewire  Someone who cannot sit still; someone who is difficult to control.

loaded  1)  an extremely wealthy person.
2)  inebriated, or drunk.

lose your cookies  to vomit, or throw up.

lunch  USA; Pittsburgh, PA; procrastinate; not taking advantage of a given opportunity.

lush  an alcoholic.

mess  bother, annoy. Don't mess with me right now, I'm in a bad mood.

messing  prying, horning in. I don't need you messing in my business!

mickey  Canada;  12 ounze bottle of liquor (usually means whiskey unless otherwise noted).

much oblicged   South Western U.S.A.;  Thank You. He leant me $100.00 and I said, "Much obliged."
