HOW MANY JEHOVAH’S ARE

THERE ?

Question # 10

Genesis 18*, This section contains two chapters so for the sake of space and time, only the verses needed to make the point are used. The verses will be listed first then the reasoning will follow. 18:1, "Afterward Jehovah appeared to him2. When he raised his eyes, then he looked and there three men were standing3. Then he said; Jehovah, if now I have found favor in your eyes, please do not pass by your servant. 4. You must have Your feet washed… 5. …and refresh Your hearts. Following that, You can pass on, because that is why You have passed this way to Your servant. At this They said:… 9. They now said to Him:… 13. Then Jehovah said to Abraham… 16. Later the men got up from there and looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham was walking with Them to escort Them. 17. And Jehovah said20. Consequently Jehovah said:… 21. I Am quite determined to go down22. At this point The Men turned from there and got on their way to Sodom; But as for Jehovah, He was still standing before Abraham. Chapter 19:1. Now the two Angels arrived at Sodom by evening…Lot…bowed down with his face to the earth. 13. For we are bringing this place to ruin,18. Then Lot said to Them: not that, please, Jehovah! 24. Then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens…".

This is a suggested way to discuss this section; presenting the facts of the scriptures.

In verse 1, Jehovah is said to appear to Abraham, and in verse 2, he describes Him as three men, and in verse 3, he addresses them as Jehovah. In verse 3, Abraham also is speaking to Jehovah in the singular but in verses 4&5 expresses that Jehovah is plural. In both verses, 4&5, the words "You and Your" are in capital letters: if you look back to the second question where I showed that if you look up the bracketed words, that in the same section it also tells that anytime "You" and "Your" is in capital letters it indicates that the pronoun is plural. Now after looking at this, look at verse 5. "They respond", so unless they want to rewrite their bible as they have before when it doesn’t say what they believe, they have a problem here. So, to this point this these are the facts; in verse 3, Abraham speaks to Jehovah in the singular sense, and in verses 4&5 indicates that it is plural, and in verse 5, "THEY" respond. In verse 9, "THEY" speak again and in verse 13, it indicates that it is Jehovah speaking.

In verse 16 they all get up and Abraham walks with them and in verse 17, Jehovah speaks, and in verse 20, it tells us that Jehovah is continuing to speak . In verse 21, Jehovah says that "I Am" going to Sodom. In verse 22, it says that "The Men" went to Sodom but Jehovah stayed there with Abraham. In chapter 19:1 Two angels arrive reaffirming 18:22 and also verse 1. Lot worships these Two; the same thing Abraham did in 18:2. In verse 13, The Two say that "They" are going to destroy Sodom. In verse 18, Lot addressed them as Jehovah also.

So now to this point these are the facts; Jehovah is standing with Abraham (18:22) and with Lot also (19:18). Then in verse 24, it says Jehovah made it rain fire from Jehovah in Heaven. How Many Jehovah’s are there? One with Abraham, One with Lot, and One in Heaven?

If we can believe in a GOD that simply spoke this world and everything we see and know into existence; then why is it so hard to believe that this same GOD could create us out of nothing, and loved us so much that He could send Himself (Genesis 22:8) in the form of a man (1 Timothy 3:16) to die for us (John 3:16) so we could regain eternity with Him (Ephesians 2:16). This is no more of a mystery than creation was, but because we cannot completely understand something in scriptures does not give us a right to change them. The Watchtower Society has consistently reprinted literature and their bible to match their teaching instead of making their teaching match the infallible Word of God. The Watchtower makes the excuse that men wrote the Bible and translated it and could have made errors. They do not believe that GOD has the power to protect the writings of a single book to keep it error free! I serve a bigger GOD than that.
