Symbolically Speaking

South Carolina has many symbols.  The most familiar are the Palmetto Tree, the Carolina Wren, the State Flag and the Carolina Jasmine.

This activity will help you learn some neat stuff about your state. Your mission is to answer the "State Trivia" questions.

After you have completed answering the questions, prepare a map that shows the locations of the landmarks or places in this questionnaire. You may use a South Carolina map that you find on the Internet, develop a map from examples in your text book, obtain a print out of a map of South Carolina from and electronic encyclopedia program, or use one that your teacher has provided. Use colored pencils to color your map and to label the place names which are the answers to the trivia questions.
