The "Badlands" Attica, Indiana

Last Weekend My family and I returned from the (now)
infamous "Badlands" located near West Lafayette, in West
Central Indiana. The area is privately owned and
administered by a local MX shop owner and until just recently
was only open on a regular basis to MX'ers and ATV'ers.
They still do not allow full-size trucks, only Jeeps,
Samurais, Land Cruisers and the like. Cost is $15 per day,
or $20 per weekend, with each additional person an extra $5.
They are open 7 days a week from 9 to dusk, all year 'round.
You will need a 6' tall flag attached to your vehicle, and
they have them there for sale. Helmets are required if you
do not have a roll bar (or are riding MX or ATV).

The area consists of around 700+ acres of just about every
type of wheeling challenge, from deep mud, to sand, to woods
trails, to off-camber, to creeks, to rocks, and so on.
Depending on how wet the weather has been, you can negotiate
a good number of the trails with just mud tires and
open-diffs, but the toughest require some serious hardware.
Believe me, there are enough trails to keep you entertained
for an entire weekend.
