During normal operations, the needles should be observed to be horizontal (approx 250 degrees F) and any split in the needle indication should cause concern.

Monitor EGT together with CHT as a part of the "Ts and Ps" Checks of the Fuel, Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature Gauges
