Bay Chaplain provides an ordained or licensed minister, for donations only, to officiate your marriage vows at your special loaction.

A romantic wedding on the Bay, followed by a reception in a waterfront restaurant is always special. 


What you will need:

Bay Chaplain may legally perform your ceremony, provided that you have a valid Texas Marriage License,

or a marriage license from another state (or country) that allows the marriage ceremony to be performed in another location.


Donations:

The Community Chaplain Foundation, Inc. (CCF) is a non profit organization that provides support to the local community.

Donations are accepted for our services, and your donation is tax deductible.   




FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where Do I Get A Marriage License?

-A couple who intends to be married in Texas must apply in person for a marriage license at a Texas County Clerk's Office. 

-Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of the a county clerk. 

   (If this is not possible, any adult or the other applicant may apply on behalf of the absent applicant. Certain terms must be met.  Contact your County Clerk for details) 

-Applications must be filled out and Social Security Numbers and Proof of Age and Identity must be shown. (Certified Birth Certificate, Drivers License). 

-A filing fee of approximately 36 dollars in cash will be charged.





How Long Must I Wait After I Get My License?

- 72 hours between the date and time of issuance of a license and the time the ceremony 

    (unless one applicant is on active duty in the armed forces, or a waiver is granted. See County Clerk for more details)

-A marriage license is valid for 30 dayss - with the 72 hour waiting period, there is a 27-day period in which the marriage ceremony can take place.
