1991
In 1991, Belinda released her 4th solo album "Live Your Life BeFree". With 6 singles in UK
and 3 singles in US. They are "Live Your Life Be Free", "Do You Feel Like I Feel", "Half The
World", "Little Black Book" and "I Plead Insanity" as a promo 12" only. In Feb, 1991 Belinda
contributes "Bless The Beast and Children" to the various artists album Tame Yourself,
benefitting People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In Sep,1991, the group plays
at a benefit for AIDS sufferer Craig Lee, a writer for the LA Weekly, at The Palace, Hollywood,
with X member Exene Cervenka deputizing for Belinda.
1992
In Apr 27, 1992, Belinda gives birth to James Duke Mason in LA. In 1992, "The Best Of Belinda
Volume 1" (Europe and Asia) and "Her Greatest Hits" (USA) was released. "The Best..." CD topped
the UK Chart, becoming her 1st number 1 solo album. The packaging of the all 3 CDs are different.
1993
Belinda 5th solo album "Real" was released in 1993. She co-produced and co-wrote most of the
songs in the album. The singles are "It's Too Real (Big Scary Animal)" and "Lay DownYour Arms".
The album was a commercial flop and her biggest disappointment yet it has got the best reviews
from critics among all her albums!
1994
In 1994, The Go-Go's reunited again and released "Return To The Valley Of The Go-Go's", a
greatest hits package with 3 new tracks like "The Whole World Lost It's Head". In USA, it was
released as a double CD. In Europe and Asia, the greatest hits CD was released as asingle CD.
It has 2 singles "The Whole World Lost It's Head" and "Good Girl". In support of the new CD,
The Go-Go's went on tour between 1994 and 1995 in US and UK. Ex-Bangle Vicki Peterson
deputizing for a pregnant Caffey.
1995
In 1995, "The Best Of Belinda Volume 1+1" (Japan) is released, the tracks are the same as the
UK and Asian with anextra track "Big Scary Animal". In Jan, 1995, the GO-GOs perform "Tutti
Frutti" with Little Richard to open the 22nd American Music Awards held at LA's Shrine Auditorium.
1996
Belinda 6th solo album "A Woman And A Man" was released in 1996 in Europe and Asia and 1997
in US. Including big hits "InToo Deep" and "Always Breaking My Heart", 6 and 8 on the UK
chart respectively. With 3 more singles "Love In A Key of C , "California" and " Remember
September" as a promo 12" only. Belinda did some support slots for Tina Turner "Wildest
Dreams" tour in UK in 1996. In addition, Belinda also staged a few shows on her own.
1997
Friday, August 15, 1997 Carlisle, who just turned 39, is filming a 26-episode documentary
with maverick archaeologist David Hatcher-Childress. The as-yet-untitled series will air
on British television in early 1998. In 1997, Belinda Carlisle's single "I Won't Say I'm
in Love", from themovie Hercules Soundtrack (European version only). Found only in that
soundtrack or the single. For the year 1997, she has a remake of the Sex Pistons song called
Submission together with Radiator for the limited edition album call Come Again to mark EMI
record company's 100 anniversary.
1998
On January 25th 1998, an AT&T tv commercial that uses newrecorded version of "Our Lips Are
Sealed" was debuted during the Superbowl XXXII. The commercial is schedule to appear during
the 1998 Winter Olympics too. In mid 1998, a new Japanese version call THE GREATEST album
was release. It is a limited edition album. It is release by Toshiba-EMI (Virgin)limited
TOCP-51085. The words THE GREATEST and LIMITED EDITION are printed on the casing of the CD
rather then on the cover of the booklet. The booklet contain 6 pages of Belinda information
from the past to present and all the lyrics of the songsin the CD. All the songs are in the
single version and the Vision of You is the 91 remix. In Dec 1998, Belinda came to Singapore
for a 2 day mini concerts at Sparks Disco. After that she went to Thailand for a X'mas
vacation with Family.
1999
In Early Jan, Belinda started her first acoustic tour since she went solo in Japan and
followed by UK in Feb and Mar. All the concert venues were mostly intimate club setting
which were sell outs. The acoustic tours was a success and Belinda admit this is first
solo concert since the 1990 Runaway Tours. She sang her version of "Different Drums" by
Linda Ronstadt. In late June to mid-July, her former all gal band, the Go-Go's reformed
again the 3rd time and perform live again for 3 weeks. The concerts receive very good
reviews from the press and they even did their version of the big titanic soundtrack hit
"My Heart Will Go On". It was a real cool rocking version! An official Go-Go website was
also online, maintain by Kathy of the Go-Go's.
