Bokutou no Ryuu or Ryuu, the wooden sword, and his gangs are seeking for the "Best Place" in their lives. While they were wandering around, one of his friends found the deserted bowling lane, Funbari Bowl, but Ryuu did not like it. Then Ryuu saw Anna, who just on the way to her home, he fell in love with Anna. However, Anna told him that she is Yoh's fiancée, and they are living together.

With the broken heart, Ryuu went back to cry alone at Funbari Bowl. Suddenly, he met the ghost of Tokagero, and Tokagero possess and take control over Ryuu's body.

Tokagero was a thief from 600 years ago, and he was killed by Amidamaru. Tokagero came back to take a revenge on Amidamaru. He stole Harusame, Amidamaru's sword, and held Manta as his hostage. At the end, Yoh and Amidamaru can defeat Tokagero, and Yoh finally helped Tokagero to realize the value of friendship.
