Chapter 3
The next morning I woke up, feeling less scared and happy to be in Nick's presence. I got up and tired not to disturb Nick. I walked into the bathroom and changed my clothes. I walked out and into the kitchen to get something to eat. I found some toaster strudels and put one in for Nick too, because I knew he'd wake up soon. I put them in and waited, all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. I looked out the peephole and standing there was a deliveryman. When I opened the door, he looked at me and said, "Hey, are you Bethany Collins?"

"Yeah, that's me."

"Ok, this is for you." he said handing me a square package.

"Ok, who's if from?"

"Um... it says an old friend"

"Oh ok," I said taking if from him. I shut the door and then Nick walked in the room.

"Who's that from?" he asked.

"I'm not sure." I opened the package and inside was a bloody butcher knife. I screamed and dropped the box. Nick took me in his arms.

"Who would send you a knife?"

"Two guesses," I said not wanting to look at it.

"Oh, Bethany, I can’t believe he sent that to you! What do you think it means?"

"I'm not sure..." I trailed off as I noticed there was a note in the box. I bent down and picked it up. I read it out loud: "Hello Bethany, I’m glad we meet again. You still look as beautiful as the last time we met. I hope we'll be seeing each other soon. In the meantime, here's a little gift to help pass the time. Oh, and tell your pretty-boy boyfriend that he'd better watch out." I dropped the note and gave Nick the tightest hug, starting to cry.
