| Chapter 19 | ||||||
| The next day Nick and I were sitting in the limo waiting for the boat to start loading. We'd worked it so that we were the first people on the ship, so that way no one would know we were on it. "So, are you excited about going to Alaska?" I asked Nick. "Yeah, from what you've told me and what I've seen from the brochures, we should have a great time and if it's cold so I can keep you warm," he said, smiling. "Yeah, and I hope it is cold. Very cold," I said leaning against him. We sat there for a few more minutes until we were allowed to board. "Well, here we go," I said, getting out of the limo. Nick and I got out and walked towards the ship. We'd just gotten to the dock when we heard screaming. "Oh boy!" Nick said taking my hand. We hurried inside and out of danger. "Man, that was close," I said as we walked inside. "Yeah. Man, look at this place! Its huge!" Nick said looking around. I looked around. The ship was huge. We were standing in the main hall. All around us were crew men running around. The room was lit with four huge chandeliers, and there was a huge spiral staircase in the middle and a statue that went up to the ceiling. There was the sound of a piano off in the distance and the front desk was to our right. "Well, what room do we have?" I asked. "Um, 128 I think." "Cool, my favorite number." "Oh really?" Nick said smiling. We stood there looking around when a woman came up to us. "Hi, you're Nick Carter right?" she asked looking at Nick. "Yeah." "Good, well I'm Nancy Smith. I’m the cruise director. I heard you were coming with your new wife and I wanted to welcome you to the ship." "Thanks. So, where's our room?" "Oh, follow me." She turned and walked towards the elevators. "So, how long have you two been married?" she asked. "Well, about two days," I said. "Oh, so not very long. Well, congratulations and I hope you have a great time on your honeymoon." "Thanks, we should." I smiled as we got on the elevator. We rode in silence and then we got to the floor. "Ok, your room is down the hall to the left, its the best room we have and has the best view. I hope you have fun and here are your room keys. I'd love to show you, but I'm late for a meeting." She handed us each a key and we thanked her and walked off the elevator towards our room. We walked down the hall and found #128 at the end. I stuck my key in and opened the door. The room was huge. It had a huge king or queen sized bed in the center, a huge TV on the dresser, a mini bar, a separate balcony that looked over the ocean, a huge couch, and a huge bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a shower. "Wow! This is nice!" Nick said. "Yeah, almost too nice." “Well, we are the most important people on the ship, and we did just get married." “Yeah, true. Well, lets get settled." We unpacked and then decided to explore the ship. Finally, we grabbed our keys and headed out. “Where do you wanna start? This thing is huge, so we have plenty to see,” I said putting my arm around Nick’s waist. “Well, it doesnt matter to me.” “Ok, whatever.” We walked to the elevator and got off and just went exploring. We walked all over the ship and saw lots of people that said hi and knew who we were. It was weird to be recognized as Nick Carter’s wife. But I knew I’d get used to it. When we were done we walked to the restaurant and had dinner. Then after we went back to our room to watch a movie. “So, what’s on?” Nick asked. “Um... well we have a choice of four movies: Ever After, Save The Last Dance, X-Men, or some movie I’ve never heard of. “ “Well, you know what I wanna see, but I’ll leave it up to you. Or we don’t have to watch a movie at all,” Nick said with a sly smile. I smiled and rolled my eyes. |
