Sarg 23 - Raakshasee Explains to Seetaa  

As Raavan told Raakshasee, they asked Seetaa - "Why don't you want to be Raavan's wife?" There was a Raakshasee named Jataa. She said angrily - "Seetaa, Raavan is from Brahmaa's family - His Maanas Putra Pulastya Rishi's family. Pulastya Rishi is at the 4th place among six Prajaapati. Raavan is as brave as his father Vishravaa. You should believe me." Jataa with a cat-like face opened her eyes wide and said again - "Raavan has won all Devtaa including Indra. He is very mighty and brave. You should become his wife. When you will be his wife, he will always come to you leaving other women."

Then there was another Raakshasee named Vikataa, she said- "Who has won Devtaa and Gandharv several times, he came to you and you refused him to become his wife? But tell me why don't you become his wife?"

After this a Raakshasee named Durmukhee said - "Sun does not get hot without whose fear, air doesn't flow without whose order, why don't you love him? Trees shower flowers by whose order only, all mountains flow water by whose order only, clouds rain by whose order only, why don't you want to become his wife? Whatever I have told you, it is for your good only. If you will not agree with me, you will surely be killed."

Sarg 24 - Seetaa Explains to Raakshasee

All Raakshasee said to Seetaa - "Raavan's palace has all kinds of comforts. He is the Swaamee of all Raakshas, then why don't you enjoy by being his wife? Whoever Raam you love, He Himself is too sad to make His any wish success?"

Hearing these kinds of words of Raakshasee, Seetaa said weeping - "Whatever you are saying to me is just opposite to Dharm. Even this kind of wish is sin for me. A human woman cannot be a Raakshas' wife. I just cannot do what you are saying to me to do, even if you all eat me. Whoever my husband you are telling that He is in exile. I love Him only as Shachee loves Indra. I am like other Satee woman that is why I love my husband only."

Raakshasee got very angry to hear all this and started scaring Her by many ways. Hanumaan was seeing all this sitting on the tree. Seetaa came to the same tree, Shinshapaa tree, on which Hanumaan was sitting and sat down under that tree.

Then Banitaa named Raakshasee came and said to Seetaa - "Your unbroken love towards your husband is very troublesome, but I am very happy to see your love towards your husband, because you are doing your duty; therefore I tell you something which is in your favor, so please do it. You go in the shelter of Raavan who is very brave. Adorn yourself with various kinds of jewelry and be the head of all Raakshasee like other Devtaa women. What you will do by living with that poor Raam. And if you will not accept my advice then we will surely eat you."

Then there was another Raakshasee named Vikataa, she said - "O foolish Seetaa, Whatever you have said we heard it all being kind to you, but you don't accept the advice which is good for you. You know it very well that you have been brought here after crossing the sea, and it is very difficult for a human being to come here, therefore even Indra cannot help you in this matter, so you listen to me and accept it what I say to you. We know it that our youth passes away very quickly that is why you should enjoy with Raavan. You will rule on thousands of women. And if you will not obey me, I will eat your heart."

Then a Raakshasee named Chandodaraa came and said to Seetaa - "Because Raavan has abducted you forcefully, I want to eat your mid-section." Hearing this another Raakshasee said - "Divide Her in equal parts and then we will share Her body." Shoorpankhaa Raakshasee said - "I agree with Ajaamukhee, so bring liquor, and today we all will eat human flesh." Seeing this Seetaa started crying because She was losing Her patience.

Sarg 25 - Seetaa Explains to Raakshasee

Seetaa said again - "Why don't you try to understand that a human woman cannot become the wife of a Raakshas. I cannot simply obey you even if you eat me." Seetaa was sitting beside the Ashok tree trunk. She was constantly remembering Raam. Her face turned yellow with fear. She was saying - "Hey Raam, I am alive even without you. These Raakshasee will surely kill me. Blessed are those who see Raam daily. Because I was without Raam at that time that is why I fell into so much trouble. Which sin I committed in my previous life because of which I am tolerating all this? I am not even able to leave my body."
