Sarg 1 - Hanumaan Flies to Lankaa After taking the jump to the peak of the Parvat, Hanumaan desired for the search for Seetaa. Hanumaan's neck and head became very high in the sky. He bowed to Soorya etc Devtaa and then desired to take off from the peak. Then he bowed to his father Pavan (Vaayu or Wind) and got ready to go to south. He pressed the mountain with his hands and feet and took a real huge form to cross the sea. Mountain shook, its flowers fell down, its inhabitants cried and went away from there thinking that some kinds of ghosts were destroying it, their women left their jewelry and went away with their husbands. Vidyaadhar stood in sky with the power of their Vidyaa (learning, or knowledge), and continued to look at that Parvat. Rishi told Vidyaadhar that Hanumaan was going to do Raam's work. Thus Vidyaadhar did Darshan of Hanumaan. Then Hanumaan shortened his form, looked at his path, took a deep breath, pressed the mountain and said to Vaanar - "I am going to Lankaa, if I don't find Seetaa there then I will go to Dev Lok, and if I don't find Seetaa even in Dev Lok then I will bring Raavan himself. Whatever the way, I will surely return after doing Raam's work. After saying this Hanumaan jumped towards the sea. Many birds and trees also flew with Haunmaan. As Hanumaan flew, trees fell in the sea without flowers. When he was flying, air came out of his sides which looked like comets. He looked like Sun and his shadow was falling in the sea. The air which was coming out of the body of Hanumaan was pushing back the sea waves. The shadow of his speed was 10 Yojan long and 20 Yojan wide and it was following Hanumaan. Many colored clouds were flying with him. Sometimes he hid behind them and sometimes he came out of them, thus he looked like a Moon. Sun protected him from His heat because he was going to do Raam's work. Vaayu also helped him in flying. When the sea saw Hanumaan flying over him, he thought that he should also do something good to him. He thought that he would provide him with a place to rest, so he requested Mainaak Parvat - "You have been appointed here not to let Asur go from Paataal, that is why you are standing here at Paatal's gate. You can move yourself also, so why not you get up and make a place for Hanumaan to rest as he is going to do Raam's work. Hanumaan is our guest. After taking some rest on you, he will go his onward journey." So the gold Mainaak Paravat came out as the Sun comes out from black clouds. Great Kinnar and snakes lived on his peaks. Because of its golden color's shine, the whole blue sky turned yellow. Seeing that Parvat, Hanumaan thought, 'it might be hurdle in my way', so he pushed it down from chest. Mainaak got very happy to see Hanumaan's strength. He appeared in his human form and said - "Hey Hanumaan, You are doing a difficult job. I have come up on the request of sea, so that you can take some rest on me and then go. Ancestors of Raam increased the sea, and now you are doing His work therefore the sea wanted to welcome you, therefore please accept his hospitality and take some rest on me. I have many kinds of fruits, Kand, roots, so have them and rest for a while and then go. You have some relation with me too. You are famous in Trilok. You are the son of Vaayu (Wind). If I worship you, that means that I have worshipped Vaayu also that is why you are respectable Parvat used to have wings and wandered around like Garud. Devtaa, human beings, Rishi got scared of such flying mountains lest they fall on them, that is why Indra cut the wings of many mountains with his Vajra. Indra came to me also. At the same time Vaayu picked me and threw me far away in this sea. That is why my feet and wings are still secured and I am indebted to your father for this. That is why I wanted to welcome you. Both, sea and I, will be very glad to have you here." Hanumaan got very happy to hear Mainaak and said - "Mainaak, I am very pleased with you, but because of the importance of my work, I am unable to stay. Secondly, I have vowed not to stay anywhere in between, therefore do not be sad on my not staying." Then he touched the mountain and flew towards Lankaa with a great speed. Mainaak went inside the sea.
