Richard and an older gentlemen share a small compartment on a train. When the other man exits the compartment, leaving behind his newspaper and the crossword puzzle he was doing, Richard takes the opportunity to finish the puzzle - and in record time!
"Richard Barrett, one of the Champions. Endowed with the senses and qualities of a super human. Endowed with Sharron Macready and Craig Stirling, his companions in a plane crash in Tibet, by the lost civilisation that saved them. Super human powers that are a secret to be closely guarded. A secret that enables them to use their powers to their best advantage was Champions of law, order and justice. Operators of the international agency of Nemesis."

Richard's file is stolen from Nemesis headquarters, Tremayne suspects that there is a purpose for this theft so he instructs Richard to allow himself to be kidnapped. He is kidnapped and taken to London where he is asked by a man called Symons to break a code that will result in a revolutionary formula to be used in the oil industry. If he refuses, the woman he has befriended, Samantha, will be killed. While he is being held, Craig is tracking him down trying to find out what is going on and why he is being given false clues from Richard regarding his whereabouts.

One of the best episodes. This again is an unusual story since it involves mainly Richard and the question over his relationship with Samantha and whether he will work for an enemy to save an innocent person's life. Craig is seen following various leads that lead to where Richard is being held, but he only arrives at the end to help Richard. Sharron is only in one scene, and never is involved in the assignment. Richard obviously cares about Samantha, who he wants to protect because he thinks she is being used by Symons. Richard does not know the whole story though, but the audience does get to see what's happening which makes the episode that much more dramatic.
The characters are very well done, with a truly wonderful performance by Jennie Linden as Samantha. The viewer sympathises with her and feels much like Richard does, and even though she is not what she seems, we can relate to her and follow her with much more emotion than other characters in the series. The character of Symons is also great, very appropiately acted by John Carson. Symons is quite menacing, but it's his intelligence and cool headed attitude which makes him a powerful foe for Richard.
We are fortunate to get some interesting insights into Richard's life in this episode. He waits to be abducted in his apartment and we see the stylish, playboy like tastes of the interior decorating. He dresses casually with a glass of scotch and listens to classical music, the Four Seasons by Gressini in particular. He lives at 376 Carvin building, Ke Da Brage and has yellow Wilkin carpet, 15 foot by 12 foot.
Craig's portrayal of the dorky salesman, selling interior-heating during summer, is very amusing.
