boredom busters

on a site i visited recently there was a list of ideas of things you can do when you're bored. i know i'm bored way too often and could usually do with some ideas, so i decided to write some of my own. :D if you have any you'd like to contribute, feel free! e-mail or tagboard or guestbook will work, i check them all frequently. enjoy!

- you could re-arrange your room. i've wanted to do this for a while but there are so many posters and pictures around the furniture that i can't really move them! ^^; try just switching a desk and a dresser, or moving your bed to a different corner/wall.

- find some old clothes that fit (but that you don't wear much) and change them! get some t-shirt glue stuff and write on them, or sew on patches or lace. whatever suits your fancy. :3 if you cut a t-shirt off under the arms, you could make a cute shirt out of it.

- make some jewelry! i love doing this. you can buy some stretchy string from almost any craft store, and then pick whatever types of beads you like and put them on in wacky ways! you can make bracelets, necklaces, anklets, even rings if you want to. they make great gifts too. xD

- take your pet out for a walk, and if you're like me (and like to talk to your pet), have a conversation on the way. it may be one sided, but if there's something you want to talk about, your pet will listen without complaining. ^^ it's good excercise for both of you and walks are always nice.

- if your pet isn't the walking type, stay in and play with it. build forts for it, or make new toys. i made a neat toy for my kitty out of old strips of materials. just cut them about an inch wide and maybe 15 inches long. cut about 10. gather them in a straight bunch and tie one of the pieces tiightly around the middle of the rest of them. viola! a dangly thingie. xD

- drawing, writing stories or poems... whatever artistic creative thing it is you do but neglect sometimes, get to it! i find that when i'm upset or angry mixed with bored, that's when i draw best. if you don't draw often, give it a try! look up some tutorials on the internet and sketch things around your house.

- take a small amount of money, say maybe 5 to 10 dollars, and see how many little things you can buy with it! keychains, candy, cheap make-up, stickers, hair ties... all those little things can be lots of fun if you pick the ones you like. take a friend with you and compare your findings afterwards.

- find someone to write a letter to, and make it interesting! include lots of little drawings, coloured pens, stickers, etc. it'll be fun to write and the person you send it to will have lots of fun reading it. maybe they'll send one back in return!

- call some people you haven't talked to in a while. i have a few friends i haven't called in ages, and that i never see because they live far away or something. they'd probalby love to hear from you and then you won't feel so bad for not having called them. ;P

- if you have photoshop, make some graphics like icons or banners or whatever you'd like. you can do fun photo manipulations or change the colours on a picture... just fool around with an image editing program and see what you can come up with!

- create or work on your website. goodness knows i should do this more often. :P it's fun once you get going on it... i often go a long time without an update and then add a whole bunch of stuff at once. working on a website is a good time-passer.
