Miss Black and Gold 1999-2000

April La’ Chaiem Williams
 
 
 

April La’ Chaiem Williams was born in Austin, Texas. She is currently a senior majoring in Sociology. Throughout her academic career April has been an active participant in the student government as a Senator at Large, the coordinator of the fall 2000 Miss Black and Gold Pageant, a member of the National Business League, and a continuous community service provider, all while obtaining a supreme focus in academia. One of her proudest moments occurred when she was honored at the Huston- Tillotson College Honors Convocation for academic excellence in the spring of 2000. April is the captain of the Huston-Tillotson College Cheerleading Squad, and has been a member for three years. She has also professionally danced for the Texas Terminator Semi- pro football team, and continues to dance for the Planet Funk Entertainment Company. Her hobbies include dancing, reading spiritual poetry, and writing poetry. April’s ultimate passion to help her fellow mankind has been exhibited by her repeated visits to the Heritage Park Nursing Home. Her motto is and continues to be “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
