Tom Sanders & The Hornets - 'Aint Done Yet'

Winners of the 1996 Best Blues Band in Connecticut Competition!
Their debut CD Aint Done Yet is a testament to Sanders commitment and vision. They've made it diverse, Guitar and vocals - created The Hornets in 1989, formerly with The Albert Otis Blues Band and the Rockabilly & Blues band The Upsetters - toured Germany and Switzerland with Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze in 1994. Tom's stingin' riffs and pure tone sets the pace for The Hornets' special selection of originals and choice Blues, Swing and R&B.
Wally Greaney
Vocal, Harp and Sax - a superb front man whose strong voice and stage presence reaches out and touches the audience - literally!  Wally has shared the stage with many Blues greats including Matt "Guitar" Murphy and Kenny Johnson of  The James Cotton Band. You may have seen him with Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze or King Cod and the Blues Sharks. yet make it speak the blues too. The title of the CD is has extra meaning, because whenever anyone asked Sanders how it was coming, he'd say 'Aint Done Yet'. It is obvious that with their local following and this debut CD,  that the Sanders and ensemble has volumes to say in the musical world and have many more CDs in them.

Trumpet - takes the band over the top and creates excitement  in the horn section, formerly with The Shaboo All Stars, Motown Review and  Little Anthony and the Locomotives. Dave has also had the honor of doing shows with Sam and Dave's and The Temptations horn sections.

Organ and piano - played and toured the Northeast with three top Rock & R&B bands over the past 20 years, Elastic Band, Razin’ Cain and The Headliners. The newest member of the band,  Joe’s shimmering organ and driving piano work fills out The Hornets sound.

Drums - provides the driving beat that brings it all together for a tight and solid sound - formerly with Derek James House Party, LA Jones and the Blues Messengers and Cold Sweat. Ray has spent over 20 years refining his craft to where he Swings and Shuffles with the best!
Kerry Muller
Bass Guitar - lays his soul down on the bottom, bringing the Blues home to everyone in the audience - The last few years Kerry has devoted himself to the Blues, playing with Larry Willey and the Blues Talkers and now The Hornets. Kerry and Ray make up one of the tightest rhythm sections around! -

Craig Erickson Blues Band - Force Majeure

Featured in the February '96 issue of Guitar World magazine as one of the hottest independent artists. Following a European tour, Erickson was back in the studio in Champaign, Illinois, working on his fourth release for Shrapnel Records Blues Bureau International.  This displays Erickson's music in a very true to form scenario. Slightly askew from the norm, Craig utilized the effortless weaving of blues, rock, fusion, jazz, tone and soul to create, Force Majeure. Adding to the spirit of the song on this project, Guitarmen, Chris Duarte and Eugene Gales, joined Craig to complete the final touches on yet another action-packed adventure for the ears.   Erickson enjoys the comparisons to the likes of Eric Johnson, Ian Moore, or Chris Duarte.

Aside of recording and live performances, Craig recently released his first instructional guitar book, Southern Rock, which is available on Mel Bay Publications. To assist with the tone of a Soulman, Craig Erickson currently holds endorsements with Seymour Duncan pickups, Rivera Amp, Sans Amp, Rocktron and Vigier guitars.

Blue Rapture - Horn Laced Blues

An extremely versatile and entertaining seven piece band based in Johnson City, TN performing throughout Tenessee, Carolina, and Virginia. They play a wide variety of music (including originals written by Ron Baisden and Gary Gerhart) The band also does originals written by area song writers Robert Russell and Billy Crawford. Their music such styles as straight ahead blues, zydeco, jump and swing style blues, and blues rock. The musicians have had a broad range of musical training and experience, playing with, and leading bands across the US.

Horn Laced Blues was recorded live on WET's live music program "Studio One Live Performance Radio" on August 23 1997 (NPR member stations WETS FM 89.5 FM Johnson City TN) except for one cut that was recorded live at the Shore in Bristol on August 2 1997.

 All the band are experienced musicians and have played in various bands.  Thomas Grahn and Lennart Fagerström have played with the US bluesstar "Big" Jack Johnson and the late Chicago blues- and soulsinger Johnny Christian. Their recordings include
compilation CD Scandinavian Blues BarbeQue  and the 1997 release State of Blue on CeePeeVee Records CPVCD101.

The FJG sound couldn't be fleshed out by just any bass player. Jordan and Monk were willing to find their bottom-end man under unusual circumstances. And that is how Douglas E. Dishman showed up. loitering in some shady comer where blues talk occurs. He was Chad's classmate from schoolboy days and had been doing the six-string guitar thing for some time. Most importantly. though, he was a bluesman. Jordan and Monk prevailed upon him to get way down, and a sound was born.

Hans Olson   recently celebrated his 25th year as a musician in Arizona. He has worked with artists as diverse as Brownie McGhee, Tom Waits and Michelle Shocked, and frequently tours in Europe.
Of course, an integral part of Arizona blues is the musicians, many of whom toil for low pay and little mainstream recognition. That's why the Phoenix Blues Society and CDGB's are pleased to present the first volume of Desert Blues, a collection of 17 songs representing a sampling of the best of the Arizona blues community, featuring Hans Olson. It is produced by the Board of the Phoenix Blues Society and Kevin Schoneman, with assistance from Bob Corritore, and assembled and edited by Clarke Rigsby. Cover art by Terry Follmer. Proceeds from the sale of this collection will benefit the Phoenix Blues Society's "Blues In the School" program.
