MeoJazz

I am Matteo "MeoJazz" Moser, I frequent the university of Trento (Trentino - NE Italy), and an of the my big passions have pushed me to create this Web page. Visa that after long searches i have not been able to find a site that speaks, in Italian, of my musical preferred instrument, I have decided to set remedy to this gap of person, creating this site, with the "collaboration" of Geocities.

You in this site will find of the interesting information, above all for the not musicians, or however for those musicians of other intruments that want to increase their musical culture. For the "employed to the jobs" I could tell that, with the time that I will have to disposition, will begin to disposition technical interesting information.

A question there will rise spontaneous: does this guy play? Beh, yes! We tell that my free time (but I don't sole!) has devoted above all to the music.

Currently I play the Soprano and Alto Saxophones:

My preferred is the Soprano, to which I devote best part of the time. I have the possibility often of play the Alto also: the select is conditioned from the kind of music or from the particular atmosphere one will create. Has happened me also of play the tenor sax and also the baritone: this is a very handsome instrument, undoubtedly fatiguing, above all for the weight, but without shade of doubt has been worth it some.

What intruments do I play?

the Soprano Sax is a Selmer SuperAction80 III Series

the Alto Sax is a Yamaha YAS-62

The mouthpieces are:

Otto Link (bell metal) 8* & Bari no. 68 on the Soprano

Otto Link (bell metal) 7* and 8* on the Alto

For as concern the Ligature: I on the metal mouthpieces use BG ligature Standard, in cloth but with metallic plate and rubber to contact of the reed. On Bari instead uses a common binding in metal, from me however elaborated again with the addition of strips in rubber to contact with the reed.

You will wonder the because of these complications: well there rhymes to the page of the technical curiosities, where I will give explanations to the respect. Techniques Info & Curiosity.

The music that I listen to? Premising that almost all the music is listened to, independently from the kind, the music that I prefer is the Jazz, it is Classic that Contemporary, from Parker to Branford Marsalis, spending for Coltrane, Shorter and Kenny G.

Above all Kenny G, the my preferred, for the "sound" that succeeds to get, for the sum of technique and melodic simplicity.

Fascinates me greatly the job of W. Shorter (?), the jazz idea that has carried ahead, his sound so particular.

If I must point out the current musical that interest me more surely i would tell what is brought back to Shorter, for as the contemporary saxophonist concerns more interesting I would point out Branford Marsalis.

Plans for the future? Currently I am collaborating with other 4 musicians to the creation of a Jazz ensamble of only wind intruments (reeds and brasses),

the 6/ 4 Sextet Quartet Band Jazz

with specific field of action the Classic Jazz, the music caused in the years '30- '40, not neglecting however what came product in succession. Shortly other newses.

My preferred saxophone...

Henry Selmer Soprano Sax
