Sorry for the long delay in updating of this site, it should come soon. I will try to add or change some of the more aged stuff gradually. I just got out of the Hospital a few days ago (now 7/11/00). On May 18, 2000, I was helping a friend push his stalled car out of harm's way in the curb lane, when someone came barreling by and hit me as I was standing in back of his car pushing. Both my legs were broke, and my right thumb also broken. I'm recovering pretty well now, can use my right hand, and hopefully I will lose the brace on my right leg soon. My left leg didn't need a brace. I can walk a little now, and am waiting to be cleared to drive again, and go back to work. I will also need some outpatient therapy for my legs for awhile.
9/8/00 Update: I lost the leg brace and hand splint in July, just got done with some outpatient therapy sessions, used various exercise equipment. My hand is a lot better, I still have a limp, and keep a cane in the car if I need it, but hopefully the limp is improving. My left leg, especially near the hip is still tender. I just got the OK to go back to work light duty for now. No more Percocets :-( The doctor started giving me Vicodin instead, then, Darvocet (each one is weaker than the last), and now today, Motrin! :-( Bummer. I may have to find another doctor, I believe I should get better than Motrin after going through all I did and what I have to put up with yet! The person who hit me has no license and no insurance, so I don't know what kind of settlement I will get.

STAY SICK, TURN BLUE! If
you grew up here in Cleveland, you'll know who's line that
is. As was "Does this program go to Parma?" (Before Drew
Carey's time), so my page banner. Click the "Stay Sick,
Turn Blue" link above to go back to a 60's household name
and
legend here in Cleveland, the site done by a cyberspace
neighbor only a short jog down the road.. By the way,
Welcome from the Slavic Village neighborhood of
Cleveland, Ohio. Home of the South High School "Straight
Shooters!" Ah, foiled again! That school in my neighborhood
made the national news the last week in October '99! I used
to live in Parma, Cleveland's largest suburb, but now I'm
back in the city for a while. I'm a suburbanite at heart, so I'm looking to move back to the 'burbs soon, as soon as I recover a few more months from the accident. One thing, Cleveland does know how to party!
Knowing
this, we hope you won't get any strange ideas or play
any funny little GAMES.
I'm in a constant process of revising this website for your
pleasure.
Don't
go too HASTILY away
looking for other websites, lest you be
TOUCHED
BY AN ANGEL!
So relax,
kick
back, drop that thing you have in your hand and grab your
mouse instead. Pop open a few COLD ONES, and
enjoy Dannykewl's "pub" here.
To get the scoop on Parma, which is a 'burb
of Cleveland, and was my previous home town, and where I
have friends, click on the SULTAN
OF CONSULTIN', who will include a photographic rundown
on
Parma and the West Side, and a nostalgic photo-journey
around Cleveland, along with other fun things. My old home,
Parma, is only a 10 minute drive down I-77 and I-480 from
my present pad in Slavic Village. Slavic Village is an old
European neighborhood, in the Southeast section of
Cleveland) with lots of Old World treasures. Even though
the area is becoming mixed and intergrated, you still
commonly hear people talking Polish, Czech, etc. in the
stores and on the street.
Like obscure RECORDS from the
60's? How about obscure 50's RADIO
COMMERCIALS, some from Cleveland. Here's a SAMPLE.
NEW! In the fall of 1966, Cleveland had a big number one hit called "OPEN UP YOUR DOOR" (129KB .wav file, 30 seconds); this "garage/punk" tune was played all over Cleveland on WIXY, WHK, and WKYC. It was also big in Detroit (CKLW), Seattle, and many other places. RICHARD AND THE YOUNG LIONS are the artists, and their band is back together, and rockin' better than ever, so please click the afore-given link to get to the R&TYL site to get the official scoop!
We on the North Coast will ROCK you! Cleveland does
know how
to party hearty! Perhaps in some ways similar to the "Big Easy", we have our own twin "Bourbon
Streets", on
both the east and
west banks of our crooked
CUYAHOGA RIVER, in an old industrial area, but
now an
entertainment district called THE FLATS.
Remember,
while you're here, in the land of Chief Wahoo
and his 1995-1999 American League Champions, it's
---
GO
TRIBE!
If you grew up in Cleveland during the 60's
and
early 70's, like I did, and had the car radio
blasting, or
perhaps your little 6 transistor portable radio
screeching
away, were you listening to any of these? You will find out why
Cleveland was chosen as the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame City.
You may also find the station
you grew up listening to in this link, here, too. CLICK HERE to find out what WHK
was playing 35 years ago now (late Jan-early Feb 1964)
right before the Beatles hit. I have a few .wavs of the
more obscure, regional big hits of the time.
