Johnny Thunderbird

The Webring of the -=Sisterhood of Inanna=- is for women
who can accept pain in sexuality.

The Sister's suffering might be considered a religious duty, a virtue, even a blessing,
under circumstances indicated in the novel
Mystery, Babylon by Johnny Thunderbird.
The Sister may offer her bodily comfort in donation to the Goddess,
that the strength and joy of Inanna might be increased.
Other than in the religious context, the pain may fill a need in the Sister which is a lust, urge, or craving,
not for pain generally, but for pain specifically administered in sexual activity.
You don't have to be a masochist to be in the Sisterhood, but it helps.

Right, we take pain with sex; so what sets us apart from just plain masochists?
One thing, is that we aren't necessarily submissives.
To Sisters in the higher initiatory levels, a partner's dominance, male or female,
is seen as ephemeral, for the primary social obligation is to the Sisterhood.

For novices and the public, on Sisters who are not already slaves:
a Sister who ritually presents her wrists to be tied isn't saying she'll obey you.
She's saying you can tie her up and fuck her, with painful stimulus expected.
She isn't your slave, she's slave to the Goddess Inanna.
She doesn't belong to you, she belongs to the Sisterhood.
You should be able to get her to do what you want, while her wrists are tied.
Apart from that, you don't own her. You can't.
She isn't likely to take anybody's orders, and that includes yours.
You might say the Sister has a private agenda.

Tish brazenly took her ritual objects off her belt.
"You see this rope?" She placed it on the table.
"It stands for the slavery of the woman in the family.
This whip stands for the persecution of the woman in the family."
She set it on the table touching the rope.
"If I present these things to you,
it means I am confronting you with my message,
that your family values aren't all that wholesome,
that your clean sex carries its own ethical pollution.
You see what I mean?"

... humor me. Think of it in these terms: at the moment,
it would be most wise and prudent for you to pretend it's true.
You have a thousand fanatic women around you who do believe it,
and not a one of those women are nice.

Chapter 11: Self Referral

This Ring accepts pages from females, free or slave, young or old.
We worship in our strongest passions.
Our shared religion gives our favorite pastime the virtue of being productive.

fine print:

Putting your page in this WebRing does not oblige you to pursue further initiation in the Sisterhood.
It doesn't mean you have to do anything else.
It doesn't say anything about your personal life, or that you practise any particular ritual.
What it says is, you help people get in touch with the Sisterhood if they want to.
If you've got worries about that, the Goddess has a wonderful Ritual which results in relieving tension.

The -=Sisterhood of Inanna=- is a mystery religion.
That means it follows the Hermetic Tradition.
That, in turn, means we don't tell everybody everything all at once.
So information internal to the Sisterhood is handled over private channels.
Don't attach any particular weight to the observation we operate in clandestine mode.
You see, this is the way we've always done it.
The alternative religious traditions which have survived, have done so because they kept their secrets.

To learn more about the Sisterhood, read
Mystery, Babylon and/or send a private, personal description of yourself to LaStWoRdZ, including the privacy conditions of your Internet access. Attached photos are welcome.
(Beautiful, if you join up, the -=Sisterhood of Inanna=- is going to learn all about you. If you have something spicy with you in it, show some skin, give us a thrill.)
The essence of religious belief and dogma may be based on faith,
but the day-to-day operations of a religion must be based on trust.
