The Band Biography Discography THE BAND
BIOGRAPHY Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Stephen Gately were all active in the Dublin arts scene when they got together and decided to form an all-guy vocal group. Under the management of Louie Walsh, the five lads from north Dublin christened themselves Boyzone and released their first single, a cover of the Spinners' "Working My Way Back to You." The song hit No. 3 on the U.K. charts; Polydor Europe beat everyone to the punch and signed the group immediately. Their first album, Said and Done, was released in the summer of 1995 and shot to No. 1 in the U.K. on the strength of the Top 5 hit singles "Love Me For A Reason," "Key To My Life," and "So Good." Their sophomore effort, 1996's A Different Beat, fared just as well, topping the charts and selling more than two million copies worldwide. Boyzone scored a musical hat trick with their next album, Where We Belong. Released in Europe in May 1998, it became their third consecutive album to hit No. 1, an accomplishment matched only by the Beatles and Oasis. With the European record-buying public under their belt, Boyzone have set their sites on America. Where We Belong, their first U.S. domestic release on Mercury Records, hit the shelves Stateside in November 1998. DISCOGRAPHY
