Bizarre Lopper Moth II - Anisozyga pieroides

Family Geometridae

This page contains information about Bizarre Lopper Moths that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Caterpillar 25mm

The small caterpillar was found on a Acacia leaf during late summer. It look bizarre, as it called. It also look like the other species of caterpillar Anisozyga metaspila, at first we thought they may be the same species, although they are found on different food plants.

Caterpillar length 10mm

We brought the small caterpillar home and fed it with the Acacia leaves. The caterpillar walk on leaves in a typical looper style.
