Rose Aphids - Macrosiphum rosae

Rose Aphids are common in Brisbane Garden. They are brownish-pink in colour. Stay on every new stems and flower buds. On late spring, the Rose Aphid colonies start to appear on the rose flower buds.

Few weeks later, the aphid colonies grow bigger and bigger. Winged aphids also appear. Rose Aphids, like all other bugs, have their needle-like mouthpart suck juice from plants.

Then the predators, include the parasite flies, parasite wasps and ladybird beetles, will appear and prey on the aphids. The number of aphids start to decrease and become un-seeable when summer starts.
