This kit uses a flat can motor with a gear box and rear support box designed to fit. With the provided motor, the RPM is about 10 K which yield about 64 SMPH @ 12 V. By replacing it with a Jameco 231713CA motor of the same physical size, at about 5 K drops this to about 32 SMPH. The conversion is very easy. Just pull the worm and press on new motor. This may be a loose fit. Clean worm and shaft with acetone an apply some Lock-Tite to shaft and set gear in place. Check polarity of terminals and mount motor with wiring accordingly. Lacking terminal lugs, use thin solid wire and only one nut to secure on drawbar screw. Using a rotary cutoff wheel, trim exposed screw flush with nut to avoid shorting on cab floor. ![]() Note: Adjust brightness and contrast for optimum viewing. |
