![]() Note: Adjust brightness and contrast for optimum viewing. PDT Mounting almost below the floor, the PDT comes in several gauges: HO, HOn3, Sn3 and On2; and many wheel bases and diameters. Ready to run, it is basically a Sagami can motor with drive train mounted in an acetal power truck housing. Motor shafts extend for flywheels, if they fit space. A mounting plate is provided for use in some applications. Speeds are reasonably slow. A special conversion is offered for the Athearn HUSTLER to replace the 400+ SMPH rubberband drive, reducing speed to a more reasonable 40 SMPH. With correct wheel spacing, there is also one for the RDC's, which is a tight fit at the coupler box and requires a fair amount of frame surgery. The only shortcomings are the hight and the mounting stud has no provisions for fastening. It could be threaded for a nut or a ring groove could be cut around it for a Cee snap-on fastener. A small Tinnerman type nut might be used. A washer should be placed between them and plate to ease pivoting. |
