Harrison Ford plays Dr. Richard Kimble who is wrongly convicted of killing his wife and sentenced to death. After escaping when the bus that he is being transported in crashes he sets out to find the real killer of his wife whilst at the same time trying to evade the police and especially the cop in charge of the operation to recapture him played by Tommy Lee Jones. I'm not really a fan of Tommy Lee Jones but he seemed perfectly suited to play the cop who is trying to track Kimble down and he even won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance. The plot isn't amazingly complex but it works on the basis that as Kimble unravels the web of conspiracy surrounding his wife's death he is constantly on the run from the cops and his many close encounters with the law and Samuel Gerard keeps the action and excitment levels high whilst at the same time allowing the story to unfold. This is helped by excellent performances by Ford and Jones and the fast pace at which the events happen and what results is a movie that keeps the viewer entertained from start to finish. |
