From the beginning of the space program, NASA wanted to have a space laboratory in witch man could work for extended periods of time. In the 1970's, SkyLab was born. A Space Station in witch man could live in space for up to 3 months.

After SkyLab, Russia set out to build MIR, Russia's first space station, witch is up to today has been orbiting to earth for 13 years.

Now, with the help of over 13 nations, we are building an International Space Station. One so large that it is larger than a football field, it is more powerful, and more massive than anything ever constructed in space.
