Jupiter is 5th planet from the sun, and by far the largest in the solar system. Some scientists say that it is a failed star, others say there is a solid planet, about the size of earth undernieth the thick atmosphere. Witch is right? Only time can tell....Untill then, we can only enjoy the many pictures of Jupiter brought to us from Hubble, Gallileo, Voyager 1, and the brief Pioneer flyby mission.
So far, over 16 moons have been found orbiting the 'Gas Giant', here are pictures of the largest 4:
Callisto
Europa, with a possible ocean under its shell of ice
Ganymede
Io, with its volcanic sulfur eruptions
These moons were known as Gallilean Moons, because they were discovered by Gallileo
The Roman sign for Jupiter
The 'Great Red Spot', a storm 3 times the size of earth that has been raging for over 300 years
Levy Shoemaker 9 Comet before burning up in Jupiter's upper atmosphere
