Carl's Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood picked up her lunch basket, said goodbye to her mother and started off to the woods. The mission: to bring her sick grandmother some lunch. It was quite a long journey, the last time Little Red Riding Hood went to her Grandmother's house it took nearly an hour.

Little Red trotted along, watching the scenery and looking for birds, when all of a sudden a big scary Rottweiler jumped out from the bushes.

"What are you doing here?" asked the dog.
"I... I told my mother that I wouldn't talk to strangers," said Little Red, trying to push her way past.
"It's okay, you can tell me. I won't hurt you," said the Rottweiler in a gentle voice, "what's in your basket?"
"Just some lunch for my sick grandmother," said the girl.

Now this Rottweiler loved all food, no matter if he was hungry or not. But, being the smart dog that he was, the Rottweiler decided that maybe he could find even more food if he went and begged Grandmother, instead of just scaring the little girl and eating the lunch right out of her basket.

"Where does your Grandma live?" asked the Rottweiler.
"Oh, she lives right off the path in a pretty blue house with a white fence," explained Little Red Riding Hood.
"Have a nice day!" shouted the Rottie as he ran off, soon out of sight.

After a short while, the Rottweiler arrived at Little Red Riding Hood's Grandmother's house. By looking very pathetic, faking a limp, and giving spontaneous cries and whines, the dog had convinced Grandma to fix him a bowl of food.

While Grandma was fixing the bowl of food, the Rottweiler thought it would be fun to look like Grandma, so he found a nightgown and cap, conveniently laying right on top of the dresser, and put them on. He had quite some difficulty getting them on, especially because the neck was way too small and the arms were so long, at first he didn't think there was an end to them.

By this time, the Rottweiler had gotten quite tired. After all he had sprinted ALL the way to the house; and that whole pathetic act he had given Grandmother would make any dog tired. So, he decided to take a rest on Grandmother's bed.

The Rottweiler had just hopped into the bed when Little Red Riding Hood knocked on the door. Grandmother didn't hear her, so the Rottweiler invited her in,

"Come on in," the Rottie said.

When Little Red Riding Hood came in, she just sat there and stared at what she thought was her Grandmother in the bed.

"Wow, Grandmother!" she exclaimed, "What a big head you have!"

What a big head you have!

"Hmm," thought the Rottweiler, "What's she talking about?"

Then it hit him, Little Red thought that he was her Grandmother.

"Okay," he thought, "I guess I'll play along, maybe this is one of those stupid games that these humans make up."

"My big head," the Rottie stuttered, trying to sound like Grandma, "it's for a big brain!"

"Oh okay, that makes sense," said Little Red Riding Hood, "but what about your eyes, they're huge!"

What big eyes you have!

"Well, they're there so I can see you better." said the Rott.

"Your nose is much bigger than I remember," said Little Red Riding Hood.

What a big nose you have!

"You know, deary, the sense of smell is VERY important" laughed the Rott, forgetting for a moment that he was supposed to be Grandmother.

The little girl gasped, "Oh what big teeth you have!"

What big teeth you have!

"The better to eat with!" the Rottweiler said with a smile.

Little Red Riding Hood gasped. This wasn't her grandmother, this was that Rottweiler she saw on the path. Just then, Grandma came into the room and set the dog's bowl of food down on the floor. He gobbled it all right up. With a lick on the face, and a very expressive thank you the Rottweiler bounded off through the woods to find some more food!!
