One of the original three founding members of the band. Rob was a classically trained pianist for four years and spent two years studying jazz improv. He has been a self taught alto saxophone player since March 1988. In the band Rob sang and played the alto saxophone and played guitar in a couple early Dirge songs. He always remained enthusiastic when playing live and could be seen running around stage or dancing on tables from time to time. Rob was musically influenced by a wide variety of musicians from virtually all styles of music. Delving into the art world he created the majority of the album cover art and stickers as well as some band posters. He would always be seen with his camera and tape recorder ready to document the shows Dirge and Cartoon Khaki would play. Also Rob was responsible for the creation and printing of the Monster 'Zine (ISSN 1499-2930) during the mid-1990s. Rob released a solo piano, saxophone and drum project called Paxum that was released on Humpin' In The Back Room Music. In Paxum he teamed up with drummer Chris Betlejemski of Curtis Mathis. They only released one album and never played any shows. Rob on the cover of Humpin' In The Back Room, Issue 7 Rob later went off to Humber College in 1997 to take culinary management but found out that the course was not for him and left. After that he decided to take photography at Mohawk College and received his Applied Photography certificate in 2000 and is now slowly working on his Music Certificate from Mohawk. In the spring of 2002 he set out on a business venture and tried to set up his own Photography Gallery in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario. Which due to crummy management on the landlords side turned into a failed business venture. He got out of Hamilton and came back to Brantford. The summer of 2004 saw the dawning of a new project called Food. Exposing a completely different side of music. The first show was 'played' August 2004 in Hamilton with the Flamingo-go's. This new sound created some confusion in all its avant guard fury but was still generally well received. Quieky is another project. This deals with actual playable music that is all written out. He is just trying to find the right time to sit down and learn the songs with a full band. All the songs are currently in MIDI format. There are four albums available on Wolfbeat Records. There are MIDI and MP3 files available on his website to listen to. Also you can go to http://www.myspace.com/quiekyfood for more sound files with these projects. Late 2007 he joined a Brantford noise group called Broken Leg Ensemble, which no longer plays. He as joined up forces with Josh St. Denis in a group called Ghostfood. Rob opperates Wolfbeat Records and Poor Little Music, he also writes the Music Spotlight for BrantNow.com Currently he is compiling information for a book regarding music in Brant County From 1960 to present. So if you know anything about the music scene from that time feel free to contact this site.
