When we first told our two children that we were expecting a special new baby to be born into our family, we explained it to them like this.......God had a special little girl in His arms in Heaven. They were sitting on a cloud together and looked down over all the earth. He knew this was an incredibly precious child and would not entrust her to just anyone. She and God searched the whole world over looking for the perfect family to put her in. He let the child help make the decision too. He wanted her to be very happy, very loved and very well-taken care of. He wanted her to have a safe, fun and opportunity-filled life. He wanted a family that would recognize the "gift" they were being given. It would be a privilege to raise this child.

After searching far and wide, she finally spotted a family that made her heart skip a beat!! The Dad and Mom's hearts were aching for a new baby to hold. The big sister knelt beside her bed every night and prayed for a little sister to play with. The big brother seemed so fun and would love to wrestle, tickle and teach her. They did fun things like camp and take bike rides and they laughed a lot!! God and the child knew this was it! She gave Him one last hug and He promised her that she and He would change her family forever. There would be some struggles and pain in her life on this place called Earth, but He promised her that she would someday come back to Heaven and she would run and dance like never before. He even placed His scarred hand on her back and a small scar was left there to remind her of her angel wings that would be placed there again someday..........

He was right, this family's lives were forever changed the day they welcomed her into their hearts. They cried tears of pain and tears of joy as they watched her grow and blossom and bravely face the life she was given. Yes, this journey was hard sometimes, but they savored her sweet presence in their lives. A perfect match was made in Heaven that day. And the adventure continues..........
