Spring 2001

It's now the Spring of 2001. Wow, how time flies.

Sometimes I'm amazed, but Tim and I are still together. I feel pretty lucky about that. I know it's not really about luck but about commitment and the willingness to fight for our relationship, but I still feel lucky.

Back in September, we took a trip to New Brunswick for Tim to be in a wedding. We made a big trip out of it and had a great time. I met Tim's parents and family, and that went well. We also had some time for quick exploration. On the way up, we had dinner in Provincetown, MA and explored Acadia National Forest the next afternoon. Once in Canada, we toured the Bay of Fundy and Prince Edward Island and spent as much time as we could seeing the sights of Tim's home province.

Once we got back from the Canada trip, we spent most of the fall looking for a new place to live. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a townhouse or house or build a house. All I knew was that 300 square feet was too small for two men. We found a townhouse we liked in November; our offer was accepted, and we moved in in December, spending our second Christmas in our new home.

Now as April days get longer and warmer, we're getting used to living in more space. It's been fun having friends over for dinner and having places for everyone to sit. Tim's looking for jobs in web programming after being laid off earlier in the year, but we're hopeful things will work out.

"And I think to myself, 'What a wonderful world.'"
