If you haven't seen the sort of thing featured clubs get beyond the club logo which appears on our clubsite for a week, then you haven't seen anything yet.
Each week (sometimes monthly), ArrylT reviews and forwards the name or a list of clubs which have requested and meet the guidelines for featuring (see Feature Policy). A full webpage is prepared with fresh graphics, describing the club, displaying over a dozen graphics for clubsite display, and offering banners and more.

Graphics by Request for All CFC Members only! |

We just love the months that begin with vowels. So many new faces join our club. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with old faces either. As you will note, some of the clubs listed here are represented by new members joining CFC; some, belong to continuing members as either new clubs or not previously listed.
Clubs Joining Between Weeks of October 6 and October 27, 2000
Take the time to stop by one or two of these clubs for a visit, or see their description in our Member Club Listing to see if this club is one that appeals to your own interests.
Club policy is to allow membership for ninety (90) days to persons not reporting a club in foundership. This period allows persons who join to learn how to start clubs to ask questions and receive assistance in setting up their clubs. After the grace period, persons who have not reported a club foundership are administratively removed from CFC membership. It's part of our contract with you that all members are founders. If you have not reported a club because you wish the club name to remain confidential or you just forgot, please write: Angelpie_Mouse@yahoo.com.

Considering the volitility of the Internet (and the assistance of hackers making it that way), for a club to survive to its first anniversary is a milestone deserving recognition, for a club to make it to two years is...well! So, this newsletter we recognize all clubs which have survived to celebrate the surpassing of their founding date in the month of November because they did. Clubs marked are celebrating a second year anniversary--WOW!.

He Hated Halloween Before
...now he really has reason to dislike it!
We've been keeping this under our hats, but now it's time to take the lid off. ArrylT has never been a big fan of Halloween. Christmas and Valentines are a different story, but the "the day of the dead" was not high on his list of things he celebrated. Anyway, this Halloween, he went to a party. No word if he went in costume, just that he went. Walking home, he was attacked by four men, mugged, and severely beaten. Word concerning this incident has been trickling in. We do not know the extent of his injuries. We do know that he expects to be offline for a while. We hope you join with us in wishing him a speedy recovery.
Hot Chocolate With Marshmellows Celebrates Its First Anniversary
miss_smurfette_30 wanted us to take particular note of the fact that her club (for women), Hot Chocolate with Marshmellows has been online for an entire year this November 10th.
We Want You to Click It!
Click on the pink ribbon here and go to Yahoo! Health [http://health.yahoo.com/health/]. You'll find a similar ribbon on that page. Click it too. Yah, we could have copied it out for you, but we want you to read for yourself.

Here's a timely idea. If the Canadian National elections were held today, who would be prime minister?
Remember those multiple choice questions you had in school? Or, those survey questions they put in the census questionnaire? Want to do a rerun on how you think the U.S. elections should have come out like? Well, you can create those yourself with this eGroups feature soon to be included in our Yahoo! clubs. Polls are a great way to get feedback from your group, to get them involved in the decision making process and active in your club.
You can create a poll question with up to 25 answers. Working on the principle of a simple data base, the poll collects the responses and assigns a percentage to each based on the number of times it is selected divided by the total number of responders. Want to have a club get together in real time, but not sure where to have it; put it to a vote. Want to promote a new cofounder from two likely candidates? Make an election out of it. What was the best song ever recorded by The Who? When is the best time to have a chat session?
For instance, the current poll on CFC_Experimental eGroup asks this question--
The next chat in Yahoo! Club Founders' Club should be (EST times as standard):
- Wednesday -- November 22 at 10 p.m.
- Friday -- November 24 at 11 p.m.
- Saturday -- November 25 at 2 p.m.
- Some other week.
- Never Again.
Of course, if you want to vote in this poll, you'll have to join CFC_Experimental.
Polls have some flexibilities in features also. You can make the current results "visible" or "invisible" to members during the time of the poll. You can show who voted and how they voted or make it all annonymous. You can choose to continue the poll until you wish to close it or set a deadline. And you can have the results emailed to all members or just to yourself. What applications can you think of for this feature?
You can join CFC_Experimental and play around with features such as the poll. Click here or go to: http://www.egroups.com/group/CFC_EXPERIMENTAL
ASCII by alsa_du
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) was designed in the early years of computers, specifically for use with teletype machines. Each character is represented by a numeric set (numeric keypad only) in combination with the ALT-key. Using this method, many of these characters previous unavailable may be reproduced on our message boards to spice things up.

Item One: SEE THE COLORS?
Pardon us for getting excited, but there were two things we were told early on concerning backgrounds in clubs. One, they would show up first in My Yahoo!. Several weeks ago, we saw some experimental backgrounds show up there, but (big yawn) no customizable quality to them. It was ho-hum and when will they finally get it together? The second thing they told us was that in order to allow us to actually customize our backgrounds, they would first have to work out the bug having to do with setting background, text, and hyperlink colors. After all, the current standard color for text is plain black, the current stand colors for links are blue for unvisited and purple for visited (the Windows defaults).
Then something happened last weekend that leaves us breathless. While lots of us were sitting there wondering why the upload feature to our clubsites had suddenly gone screwy, Yahoo! was there in the background adding this new feature to My Yahoo!. Colors! Check it out! True, they are preselected colors, but they are colors just the same. And, as I said, if it works in My Yahoo!, it won't be long now.
What can you do to prepare? Well, we're not going to start the frenzy of creating backgrounds just yet, neither do we suggest you start your collection. We do recommend, however, that you go customize your My Yahoo! in order to become familiar with this feature. Let's hope they introduce this new feature before Christmas when we can really put it into use rather than as our Christmas present.
Item Two: Holiday and Elections Graphics
Featured clubs, please remember that your Thanksgiving graphics remain on display. If you've misplaced the art mailed you in October, you'll find it on our homepage at: http://www.oocities.org/clubfoundersclub2/featured2000b/thanksgiving1.html.
The Canadian National Elections are November 27th. While we will no longer be offering graphics for the U.S. elections after today, for obvious reasons, we will continue to offer graphics for the Canadian National Elections until November 26th. The URL is: http://www.gecities.com/clubfoundersclub2/featured2000b/election2000.html.
