Hi! Let me introduce myself. My name is Mannie and I was born in 1976. I'm of Chinese origins but now call Canada home. I obtained my B.Sc. in Biochemistry from McGill University in June 1998, and my M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UBC in Dr. Caroline Astell's laboratory in May 2001. I am now doing my Ph.D. studies with Dr. Lynn Raymond in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience at UBC. I'm currently staying with my sisters and parents. Here in Vancouver I hope to continue the pursuit of my hobbies which include piano playing, choral singing, painting, reading, and watching movies!
From 1998-1999 I was involved with the Campus Crusade for Christ and the UBC Chinese Chess Club. In 1999 I also actively volunteered at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre where I discovered my love for marine animals.
Lately I fell in love with talented Hong Kong stage and film actor Tse Kwan-Ho (mandarin: Xie Junhao) 
. As of January 5, 2001, I have therefore included a new page with links to him and to shows in which he acted, as well as another page that reviews his award-winning performance in the film "The Mad Phoenix".
