A survey course in mathematical ideas. A goal of this course is to reveal what mathematics is really like and to give a historical perspective. Content varies with instructor but often includes ideas from geometry, number theory, logic, graph theory and topology, probability, and other topics. Prerequisite: Two years of high school algebra and one year of geometry. (Note: MAT 106 is offered only in spring semesters.) Course fees: $5/$5. Credits 3/3.
