MAT 108 : Elementary Numerical Analysis : A Modern Prospective

This course is designed to prepare students to teach the non-geometric mathematics included in a modern NCTM STANDARDS based K-8 curriculum. Emphasis is placed on the structure of arithmetic, development of good number sense, basic number theory, understanding probability, and the use of descriptive statistics. The course concentrates on problem solving, communicating problem solutions, and arithmetic and algebraic reasoning skills. (Satisfies the General Education Mathematics requirement.) Credits 3
