Topics covered include approximate solutions of differential equations by analytic methods, complex variable and boundary-value problems, transform analysis, variational calculus, Sturm-Liouville theory, and integral equations, applications to physical problems from fluid mechanics, electrostatics, and elasticity. Prerequisite: MAT 459 or permission.
