A continuation of MAT 487, covering numerical solutions of nonlinear algebraic systems, ordinary and partial differential equations, and the stability of numerical solutions. This course should be of interest to physicists and engineers concerned with the theoretical discussion of physical systems which do not yield closed-form solutions. Provides a detailed exposition of modern computational methods and their interaction with differential equations. Prerequisite: MAT 487 or permission.
