MAT 577/578 : Topology I, II

An introductory sequence covering the following fundamental topics from point set topology: topological spaces, continuous functions, compactness, connectivity, separation axioms, complete metric spaces, homotopy, the fundamental group, covering spaces, classical and recent results from topology, and applications to other areas of mathematics. Prerequisite: MAT 425 and MAT 463 or permission.
