THE STAFF
About this season's Staff: This season called for a very specialized staff. Each member of the staff concentrates on a certain aspect of the show, such as music, Pit, Battery, Marching Technique, and visual ensemble. This extensive staff will provide for a very organized administration that is necessary for a very orderly, yet apparently chaotic, show, as everything is choreographed specifically.
Head Musical Instructor: Ray Donato
Technical Instructor: Scott Hughes
Marching/Drill Instructor: Dave Bayardelle
Visual design, etc.: Gavin Miller
Side One: The Devils, Playing the part of the Devil
About the Devil Line: For the Devil line, the best front line members were called upon to present the menacing personality to this side of the story. The bass line's sound is not quite as strong, however, they provide much effort for improvement. Visual presentation is not yet optimized either, but improvement will ensue.
Side Two: The Hicks, Playing the part of Johnny...
About the Hick Line: The strongest member in this line is Bass Line '97 veteran Rob, without doubt, who provides the necessary kinetic power to the show with his uncanny ability to haul ass. This line's strength is in the sound of the bass line, which is more cohesive than that of the Devils' bass line. Their visual presentation and their front line needs to catch up, however, and we are certain that it will.
The Front Ensemble
About the Front Ensemble: This season's Pit takes on a slightly different role than previous years' pits. Unlike the previous seasons, this winter line will not be as dependent on the pit, as there is not ballad section. Instead, they simply provide the background music for the show, and they are dressed as neutrally as possible to not favor either line. This is a nice manifestation of the fact that, although the Hick line wins the contest, both lines are of equal importance and worked together for our victories.
