Notes on special characters of the Icelandic alphabet

Þ	Represent a {th} sound like in English this
ð	Represent a {th} sound like in English father (faðer)
Æ,æ	Represent a vowel like in English bad and mad
Ö,ö	Represent a vowel, the name Örn is pronounced like English earn
		(The same as the characters {Ø,ø} in Norwegian and Danish)
