The Bucs First Championship: A Dozen Days in January

The last workday before the Super Bowl and most companies gave employees
permission to wear Buccaneers clothing to work this Friday. If you went to the
bank, the tellers were decked out in a sea of red. Go to the fast food joint
and everyone was supporting the Bucs. Flags waved from cars and business signs
wished the team well. The Buccaneers were everywhere.
Sometimes it surprised you just who showed up in a Bucs jersey at work. Co- workers who had never said the word Buccaneers in all the years they worked there were showing support. Many offices had Super Bowl luncheons and parties.
My wife wore her new, and newly altered, sweatshirt to work. I also wore a Bucs shirt. I think I did see one somewhat courageous, if not misguided, person wearing a Raiders hat that day.
