Sligo only managed a draw against Ulster Senior League outfit Fanad United in Tra-na-Locha. Fanad scored in the 17th minute through Colm McGonagle. Rovers had earlier hit the woodwork with Sean Flannery going close.
Sligo kept trying to find an equalizer bringing on Donagh Oates and Matthew Daly to add impetus to the attack. It was duly rewarded in a late late show. Four minutes from time Padraig Moran flicked on a Peter Cubesson cross and Lee Thew scored from close range.
The group is wide open still, Rovers need to beat Derry on Tuesday and hope that Finn Harps don't win against Fanad on Wednesday evening.
