What is known by neighboring communities
The history of Coppervale is a sad one, indeed. The town has been around since the oldest elder could remember. Though, it was first founded on the ground.
Perhaps 100 years later, the Gods became angry at the world as a whole. Many lands were devastated by fire and famine. Coppervale was destroyed by floods.
The periodic flooding caused the surviving inhabitants to seek shelter in the trees, building their homes high above the ground, around the existing tree trunks. This way they could avoid losing anymore people to the floods.
The Gods were angered by this, and cursed the inhabitants so there were no longer any births in the small town. This curse brought an unfortunant end to the town, many years later.
The New Founders...
A small group of travelers stumbled onto something, a few years after the last remaining survivors died out. What they stumbled across was a wooden platform, at the base of one of the great Redwoods. they soon found out it was a lift, one of the only ways to get into the town from the ground.
When the travelers came to the town, they were awe struck, never having seen a town built into the trees as such. They found it all very beautiful.
So, they fixed up what needed to be fixed, and made a few minor improvements. Now when one enters the town they are greeted by a small sign:
"Welcome to Coppervale! No one is turned away"
That is how the town came to be, as was then and as we know now.
And what they found out...
Actually, They didn't find out much, while cleaning the town, repairing it, and making the Inn presentable for opening, they never found the time to sift through the written journals and records left behind. Maybe, one day, someone will look through all of the parchments, to shed some light on this town.
